UCLH wrote residents last week to update on works at the site on corner of Grafton Way and Huntley Street, which will be the location of the new clinical facility including a Proton Beam Therapy Centre and short stay surgery.
The demolition of the aboveground section of the Rosenheim building is complete and they have now launched preparatory works for the construction phase of the new building.
Utility diversion works on Huntley Street and University street have started, so that the new building can be connected to existing underground services. This work entails:
• Closure of University Street. A 2m x 5m trench now exists outside of the Macmillan Cancer Center
• Huntley Street made one-way. Another 2m x 5m trench will be dug close to the Cruciform Building.
• Parking on Huntley Street & University Street suspended.
Works should finish by end of July 2015.
