    In the 1930s, Paramount Pictures commissioned architects Frank Verity & Sam Beverly to build the Paramount Theatre and adjacent residential block, Paramount Court. With its rounded corners and horizontal accents, Paramount Court embraces the  Streamline Moderne or Ocean Liner
    style of Art Deco.

    Paramount Court has a rich history on Tottenham Court Road. At one time the site of one of London’s largest department stores and originally owned by by Paramount Pictures, Paramount Court and its basement ballroom was home to Britain’s first jitterbug competition.
